The
couples can keep their love even after many years of marriage , and
face the same kinds of intense romantic feelings like people who have
fallen in love recently . This is the main conclusion of the new study , carried out by
scientists from Stony Brook University in New York, using functional
magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) to scan the brain of couples married
for a long time and compare the images with images of men and women who
have fallen in love recently .
The
researchers brain scans of 10 women and 7 men who said they still love
partner / her life after an average of 21 years of marriage. During
the survey , participants saw pictures and faces of partners and their
partners , as well as a friend's photo / her close-up, as well as the
images they saw an unknown person who does not know him . And while watching images of the participants were measured their brain activity .
After that, the researchers compared the results of the fMRI scan for
couples who still love their spouses several years ago with the results
of a previous study , which used the same methods of surveying 10 women
and -7 men who said they had signed madly in love during the last year
alone.
